Read for the Record Event

Each year, Jumpstart selects a campaign book that fosters language and social-emotional development, honors the diversity in our world, has a strong narrative, and appeals to young children. That book is read across the country and around the world by adults and young readers on Read for the Record day.
This year, Jumpstart’s 18th Annual Read for the Record campaign will be held on October 26, 2023. Millions of people will come together on this day to read With Lots of Love written by Jenny Torres Sanchez and illustrated by Andre Ceolin. Thousands of schools, libraries, organizations, and communities will celebrate early literacy by reading this beautiful story about family, finding ways to stay connected, and sharing love across distances.
