Four County Electric Care Trust gives grant to Smart Start of Pender County

Thanks to a $2,000.00 grant from the Four County Electric Care Trust, Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) of Pender County and Smart Start of Pender County (SSPC), will provide child care educators health and safety supplies as they continue operations amidst COVID-19.  The supplies will help providers stay in regulation with CDC guidelines and help to maintain a consistent PPE supply at their facilities. These essential workers provide needed services in our county, especially for families that still need to go to work for their families, during this time.

Smart Start of Pender County helps child care teachers and parents access resources and materials that are essential to meeting the challenges of early learning and education and encourages the community to invest and support the growth and development of safe, happy and healthy children by focusing on the importance of quality early care and education.

SSPC hosts a book distribution event quarterly for children ages birth to 12; in addition, resource library members may pick up books for their children monthly, or non-members may bring their children by the agency to pick up books once per month.
